 68th Republic Day Celebrations

26th January 2017

The 68th Republic celebrations at St. Paul’s English School, J P Nagar started off with the hoisting of the Indian tricolor flag by Mr.Anees Ahmed, Principal, Presidency College, (Bangalore South). Principal Susan Roy, Vice Principal Deepa Gopal, Head of Kindergarten section Mildred D’ Souza, teachers and students assembled and paid their heartfelt obeisance to the National Flag.

This was followed by a medley of patriotic songs mellifluously rendered by members of the school choir.

It was a solemn audience that Principal Susan Roy ma’am addressed her remarks to. Principal ma’am pointed out that had the 29th Annual Sports Meet that had been held on the previous day was a start to our celebrations for the 68th Republic Day of India.Ma’am exhorted everyone to regard tolerance as the greatest virtue and the need of the hour. She quoted former President of India late Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam’s words on the need for a humane approach towards one another in our country. According to Susan ma’am if all of us as people love one another, then tolerance and understanding would surely follow. With love for all our brethren, will come love for all our countrymen. This emotion would then guide our actions and imbue in us all, a spirit of service to our country. That will translate into an India full of patriots who are tolerant and believe in the spirit of selfless service. These words strongly accentuated the solemn and emotionally charged atmosphere of the Republic Day morning.
